Data Lifecycle
Manage data in an Arc Enterprise cluster: retention policies, continuous queries, delete operations, and hot/cold tiered storage, all with automatic scheduling.
Arc OSS provides retention policies and continuous queries but expects you to trigger them yourself through the API. Arc Enterprise adds a scheduler: define the policy once with a cron expression and the cluster runs it. See Automated scheduling.
Tiered storage is Enterprise-only. It moves aged partitions to archive storage classes while keeping them queryable, which is usually the largest single lever on storage cost.
Retention policies
Drop data past a per-measurement age, enforced automatically on a schedule.
Continuous queries
Downsample into materialized measurements on a cron schedule.
Delete operations
Targeted deletion by measurement and time range, via Parquet rewrite.
Tiered storage
Age partitions to S3 Glacier or Azure Archive with per-database policies.
